Privacy Policy

CloudEx Inc. ("we", "us", or "our") operates the "QR Code Scanner Pro" app (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you. By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to the practices described in this Policy.

1. Our Core Principle

QR Code Scanner Pro is an app that scans and creates QR codes and barcodes and keeps a history of them. Decoding codes, the link safety check and creating codes are all performed on your device. What you scan, the codes you create and your history are stored only on your device, and we never collect them or transmit them to our servers. Specifically, we do not have access to any of the following:

  • What your camera sees, or the images you scan from
  • The contents of the codes you scan (URLs, Wi-Fi network names and passwords, contacts, events, locations, and so on)
  • The contents of the codes you create
  • Your scan and creation history, and the stars and notes you add to it

This content leaves your device only through actions you take yourself: handing it to another app, or sharing, exporting, copying or saving it (Section 5). QR Code Scanner Pro contains no ads and does not collect the advertising ID.

2. The Camera and Images

  • The camera is used only while the scan screen is showing. It stops when you switch to another tab or another app.
  • The camera feed is analysed on your device, solely to find and read codes, by the scanning component built into the app (Google's ML Kit barcode scanning, with its model bundled in the app). The feed is never recorded, saved as a photo, or sent off your device.
  • When you scan "From image", only the image you pick in Android's photo picker is analysed, on your device. The app does not list your photos or read any image you did not pick. When you share an image to QR Code Scanner Pro from another app, only that image is analysed, in the same way.
  • Scanning from an image and creating codes work even if you do not allow the camera.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information Sent Automatically

  • Crash reports: Via Firebase Crashlytics. When the app crashes, diagnostic information such as the stack trace, device model, OS version and app version is sent together with an identifier assigned to each installation of the app. It does not include what you scanned, the codes you created, or your history.
  • App usage statistics: Via Google Analytics for Firebase. Automatically recorded usage events — such as first open, app open, screen views and app updates — are sent together with device information (model, OS version, language, approximate country or region) and an identifier assigned to each installation of the app. We use them only to understand overall app usage and improve the app. We do not collect the advertising ID (AAID): the advertising ID permission is removed from the app and Analytics' advertising ID collection is turned off. What you scan, URLs and your history are never sent to Analytics.
  • Diagnostics from the scanning component: Google's ML Kit, which the app uses for scanning, may send Google information such as device information, app information, identifiers, performance and configuration of the feature, and error information, for diagnostics and usage analytics of the feature. This does not include the camera feed, images, or what you scanned.

3.2 Purchase Information

  • Premium is purchased through Google Play's billing system. To confirm your purchase, QR Code Scanner Pro asks Google Play whether you own it and uses the purchase information issued by Google Play. We never receive payment information such as credit card numbers.

3.3 Information We Do Not Collect

  • The camera feed, your photos, or the images you scan from
  • What you scan, the codes you create, or your history
  • The URLs you run through the link safety check
  • Precise location such as GPS coordinates (the app does not ask for location permission)
  • Contacts, calendar, call log, SMS, or the files on your device
  • The advertising ID

4. Information Stored on Your Device

  • History: What you scan and create, with the stars and notes you add, is stored only in the app's private storage (a place other apps cannot read). It is never placed in shared storage or on an SD card. The history is excluded from Android's automatic backup (backup to your Google account and transfer to a new device), so it does not move automatically when you change phones.
  • If you turn "Keep a history" off: What you scan is not saved to the history. Items held temporarily to total up a continuous scanning session are erased when you close the totals screen.
  • Settings: Scan settings (sound, vibration, the formats to read, and so on), creation settings, the theme, a record of your Premium purchase and similar settings are stored on your device. If backup to your Google account is turned on for your device, Android's backup system may store these settings in your Google account and restore them to a new device (the history is not included). We cannot see the contents of this backup.
  • Uninstalling the app erases all of the history and settings on your device.

5. Handing Content to Other Apps, and Taking It Off Your Device

The following actions on a scan result hand the content, when you tap them, to the other app that performs the action (a browser, contacts, phone, email, SMS, maps, calendar, Wi-Fi settings, a search or shopping app, and so on):

  • Open / Connect to Wi-Fi / Add to contacts / Call / Send email / Send SMS / Open in maps / Add to calendar / Search / Find in shops

What happens to the content in that app is governed by that app's provider. If you change "When a link is read" in the settings to "Open straight away", a scanned URL is handed to your browser or similar app as soon as it is read (the default is "Show me where it goes first"). On Android 10, connecting to Wi-Fi copies the password to the clipboard and then opens the Wi-Fi settings.

Sharing, copying, saving to your gallery and exporting the history (CSV / JSON) happen only when you do them, and you choose where the content goes. If you turn on "Auto-copy" in the settings, each scan is copied to the clipboard (it is off by default).

6. The Link Safety Check

Before you open a scanned URL, QR Code Scanner Pro checks whether the way the address is written uses a disguise trick (look-alike characters, a link shortener, an IP number instead of a name, an "@" placed before the real destination, and so on). This check is performed only on your device, and the URL is never sent anywhere — neither to us nor to any outside service that rates links.

The check looks only at how the address is written; it does not guarantee that the site itself is safe. It cannot detect a fake page hosted on a genuine domain, or a site that has been taken over. When nothing suspicious is found, that does not mean the site is safe.

7. Where the App Connects, and Third-Party Services

QR Code Scanner Pro connects to the internet only in the following cases. What you scan, the codes you create and your history are sent to none of them.

  • Firebase Crashlytics / Google Analytics for Firebase (Google LLC) — the crash reports and usage statistics in Section 3.1 (Privacy and Security in Firebase)
  • ML Kit (Google LLC) — the diagnostics from the scanning component in Section 3.1 (ML Kit Terms)
  • Google Play (Google LLC) — buying Premium and confirming the purchase (Google Play Billing), in-app reviews, and checking for a newer version (in-app updates). Payment is completed on Google Play's side.
  • The list of our other apps — when the settings screen shows our other apps or you open "Our other apps", the list and its images are downloaded from our distribution site (adblockerpro-lists.pages.dev). To choose which apps to show, the app checks your device's country or region setting and whether our apps are already installed, on your device; the result is not sent.
  • This privacy policy page — when you view this policy in the app, it is loaded from our website (qreditorpro.cloud-ex.biz).

As with any internet connection, the server on the other end receives the information needed to communicate, such as your device's IP address. For how Google handles information in its services, please see the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

QR Code Scanner Pro does not display ads within the app and does not share your data with advertising networks.

8. Permissions the App Requests and Their Purposes

  • Camera (CAMERA) — Used to scan codes. This is the only permission the app asks for while running.
  • Vibration (VIBRATE) — Used to let you know by vibration that a code was read (you can turn this off in the settings).
  • Internet (INTERNET) — Used only for the connections in Section 7. Scanning and creating codes do not need the internet.

The app does not ask for location, contacts, calendar, storage (photos or files) or microphone permissions. Adding a contact, calling, maps and adding an event are done by handing the content to the app that handles each of them, so those permissions are not needed. Images are picked with Android's photo picker and saved to your gallery through Android's standard saving mechanism, so no storage permission is needed either.

9. How We Use Information

The limited information we collect is used only for the following purposes:

  • Operating and maintaining the Service
